Yes, thats right. This wallpaper marks rahXephon wallpaper #10! I actually made this for aplastictree over at AP for new years/chsristmas/whatever. The idea behind it was just that feeling of being in a dream. To call it surreal by definition would be incorrect, but in todays society, the term surreal is what most people would use. The idea of the subconcious and imagaination though, was what drove it.
A collab with Krooples, from animepaper.net. When he pmed me with theis vector, all i could think was "damn!" and eagerly agreed to collab with him. I went for a sort of "emotional grunge" that my rahXephon walls usually have, I sent it over to krooples who did a huge impact with a few edits. When i got it back, i did some minor adjustments, and added text and a sig, From there, it was done.
This wall was made for the compatition The Battleground. It was the Crimson Orchestra (us) vs. the Foundation. We won :D. Basically this wall kind of goes with my Dier Irae wall in terms of concept and execution. The scan involved major reCG work including half of mishimas hair and dress.
In case you havn't noticed, i realllly love rahXephon. So, yet another wall with my favorite lost and angsty teen, Ayato. I followed the idea of the original background, which was just him kinda floating above tokyo jupiter. but i Love grunge, so grunge it was. By the way, "dies irae" is latin for "day of wrath".
So basically, I love the chaos in RahXephon a whole lot, and i've been wanting to represent Ayato's internal conflicts in a wall. Finally, it hit me, and this one was born. It's pop-artish gone grunge , sporting some lyrics from a VAST song called "Sunday I'll be Gone". Because we all know, if it's Rahxephon, and it's coming rfom kalico, it HAS to be grunge. dhias smudged and recolored the scan, as well as all the rocks around it, and then there was water added. i textured, tweaked, and added foreground elements, like rocks and tree branches to fix the scale and add depth. added some light streaks and started on the text. Back to dhias where the light went under some changes, as did the text a nd a few other minor issues.back to me for some final tweaks and effects.
I went for an abstract-ish background with only a relative amount of depth. i wanted to keep it looking kind of shallow, and threw in a light spot behind ayato to attract your eye to that area. Shattered Glass did the job nicely. So...that sums it up. pretty simple. yet, it looks kinda complex.
This is actually my entry for the contest i was invited to join by my affiliate, MeteorCloud, from Suki-Sanctuary. The wall is a grunge wall, attempting to portray the climax of the series,without giving anything away. Oh, and the definition of Cadence is pretty much the harmonic ending of a piece. like, the way the chords give an ending to a symphony and stuff.
Well, I loved RahXephon. And i loved this scan. So, i decided to make a wall with it. The moment i saw it i for some reason thought "curtains" and went with it. i also added in a curtain on the left side to help frame it, and went for a grungy painted/stone feeling in the background. It's kinda mysterious, don't ya think?
Most favoritest RahXephon image that i have yet to see. It's just beautiful. I didn't touch the image other than minor color correctionss to the scan, and the addition of text. The image was perfect for a wall already.
